Description
IMPRESS is a high performance, high solids, high build acrylic based, flexible texture coating incorporating specially graded aggregates to provide a rollerable or sprayable coating with a grainy finish. IMPRESS is available in fine, medium and coarse grades.
IMPRESS requires no top coating as it is the finished coating. The surface should be primed with MAXIPRIME prior to the application of IMPRESS. IMPRESS is available in an extensive colour range.
Uses
IMPRESS is ideal as an internal or external final decorative and protective coating for:
Walls.
Facades.
Balustrades.
Columns.
Partitioning.
Suitable Surfaces
IMPRESS is suitable to coat the following suitably primed, clean, dry, sound, contaminant-free, stable surfaces:
Off-form Concrete
Cement Render
Polymer Render
FC Sheeting
Blue Board
Brick and block work
Masonry Surfaces
Timber
Surface imperfections must be fixed prior to applying IMPRESS to achieve the desired finish. Substrates and joints may need to be prepared or skimmed with MAXIJOINT, MAXICRETE or WUNDA RENDER.

Precautions in Use
The product is safe to use if used properly.
Priming and Preparation
Good preparation is essential. Surfaces must be sound, stable, dry, clean and free of dust, loose, flaking, friable material and substances that may diminish adhesion.
Surface imperfection should be repaired prior to coating to achieve a good result and a desired finish. Surfaces may require patching, skimming or rendering using Duramax MaxiCrete [smooth patching & skimming compound], WundaRender [polymer render], MaxiJoint (flexible jointing compound].
Cracks should be filled with a suitable filler and finished flush with the surface in accordance with good painting practice.
Priming
Prime surfaces with MaxiPrime at the rate of 6 to 8 sq.m. per litre (average of 90 sq.m. per 15 litre pail). Allow to dry for about 4 hours in good drying conditions before applying IMPRESS.
Excessively porous surface may require an additional priming coat.
Application
Stir product well before use. (Power stirrer)
Apply by roller (long napped) or by spray (removing all filters) in a minimum of two coats.
Do not apply if rain or frost is imminent or likely during the products drying period.
Application Experience
We recommend that the product is applied by person with the appropriate skills and experience for the type of product. The acceptability of the surface is the responsibility of the applicator.
Coverage
The stated average coverage rate may vary depending upon type, condition, porosity, texture of the surface and application technique.
Coverage may vary as it is dependent upon the type, texture, porosity and application technique.
45 sq.m. per 15 litre pail is usually applied in 2 coats with a medium black texture roller.
60 - 65 sq.m. per 15 litre pail (4 sq. m. per lt per coat) is applied with a low to medium nap roller.
MAXIPRIME: 6 to 8 sq.m per litre undiluted. +/- 14 sq. m per litre diluted with 30% clean water.
Colours
IMPRESS can be tinted to almost any colour.
Whilst colour formulations are computer generated and care is taken to accurately colour match, batch to batch variations may occur.
Arrangements can be made for the piecemeal supply of the product.
Colours and particular batch to batch colour-matching should be checked prior to application. No responsibility will be accepted after the product has been used and/or applied.
Note that if the product is used for touch ups, it must be taken from the same batch of product used for the original coat.
Colours produced from white and light bases are usually included in the price of the product. A premium may be charged for colours produced from deep and accent bases.
Colour Batches
Whilst care is taken to accurately colour match, batch to batch variations may occur for reasons which may be beyond our control. We strongly advise that project requirements are ordered in a single batch lot to avoid colour matching from batch to batch. Minimum quantities and tinting charges may apply.
Contractor Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the contractor or applicator to ensure that the colour is within specification prior to its application. The Company shall not be liable for any colour variations after the product has been applied. Further, the applicator should use product for touch-ups from the same batches used to do the original coats.
Drying and Curing
Drying and curing of the product is affected by type, dryness and porosity of the surface, temperature, humidity, ventilation, climate conditions and application technique and therefore drying and curing can only be given as a guide.
At 20oC and 50% RH, cure times would approximate:
Touch dry: 2 to 4 hours
Recoat: 6 hours
Drying times may vary depending upon type, porosity and dryness of the substrate and temperature, humidity and weather conditions.
Storage
Available in 4 and 15 litre pails.
Shelf life about 6 months in unopened containers.
Store in cool, dry area.
Product is not flammable or considered dangerous.
Clean Up
Wet spills can be cleaned with water.
Tiling, Topping or Top Coating
Not Applicable.
