Photo showing Wrimco SBS membrane being torch applied to the box gutter of the parapet membrane roof. Note that no primer is used on plywood as adhesion is 100% due to the high SBS content and Alaskan bitumen used. The builder glued in place 20 x 20 fillets to facilitate the laying. This is the first layer of a two layer system with the sheets butted and not with normal 75mm overlap. This was to eliminate "bumps" from the first layer which would show up when the second layer was torched in place.

Wrimco SBS Granules waterproofing membrane system fully bonded to a plywood membrane roof. 75mm strips were first applied over the butt joints which can be readily seen. The roof incorporates the box gutters shown. Plywood (and blockwork) is not normally primed as the Wrimco SBS adheres so well to timber but, for extra protection, the plywood was primed with Wrimco SBS Primer on this occasion.
Photo showing upper membrane roof with membrane work completed. No black lines from the overlaps of the 2nd coat of Wrimco SBS Granules are seen since the sheets were laid starting from the brick wall. Note that there are no intermediate "bumps" as the first layer of plane membrane was butted and not overlaid. Since the membrane was laid parallel to the first with staggered joints, the system is 100% watertight and should outlast the building.
The view from the other direction so the 3mm black lines are seen. Since the upper membrane roof was hidden from view, the box gutter was laid in the conventional way rather than longitudinally as was the case for the lower membrane roof.
Since the box gutter on the lower membrane roof was laid in one piece, there are no "bumps" to accumulate dirt. Being so close to the road and easily observed, an excellent appearance was most desirable.

Photographs showing the application of Wrimco SBS Granules single layer system to a plywood membrane roof extension. The sheets were laid parallel to the drain and starting from the drain in order to provide a shingle effect. They could have been laid just as well however at right angles to the box gutter so there would be no water ponding at the laps but there would then be more joints.
