Polyethylene closed cell backing rod is a grey foam rod which can be used to enhance adhesion and performance in joints. It is great for foundations, wall joints, cracks in pavement and sealing around doors and windows.
is used as a backing for elastomeric and other cold-applied sealants. (such as caulking). At the same time, it insulates and saves on the amount of sealants material used. Most importantly, it acts as a bond strip. Closed cell backer rod
will not hold moisture (it actually repels moisture) and provides a firmer finished joint than open cell foams.
It is an ideal, non-absorbent, compressible backup material inserted into a joint to control sealant depth, create a backstop to allow proper sealant tooling, to allow proper sealant wetting of the joint surfaces, and to yield a proper bond-breaker between the backup material and the sealant. It acts as a secondary joint seal, and is compatible with butyl, polysulfide, acrylic, polyurethane, silicon and most other cold applied sealant compositions.
Backer Rod is an extruded, round, closed-cell, low density Polyethylene Foam material with a skin-like outer texture. Itis recommended for foundations, partitions, wall joints, cracks in pavement and sealing around doors and windows. It is highly flexible and compressible for easy installation.
Backer Rod comes in many convenient sizes including 1/4 ", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1" and 6mm, 8mm,
10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm and 40mm, 50mm. This round closed cell backer rod could be used for fishing lures.
Closed-cell, non-crosslinked, extrusion-type polyethylene (PE) foam in rods. It is a CFC free, closed-cell, non-crosslinked, extrusion-type polyethylene foam extrusion. The closed cell structure gives Lightlon its excellent dimensional stability, enabling it to withstand years of repeated compression and expansion. In addition, it gives the product its superior waterproofing properties.
