PREPARATION

All surfaces shall be sound, clean, dry and free of release curing agents and other contaminants. Check adhesion by applying to a test area. Concrete to be at least 28 days old, dry and free of voids and other surface defects. Make sure painted surfaces are sound and remove any chalking by pressure spray or light detergent wash. Roof decks should be properly drained for long-term serviceability of DuroNon Slip. A 12mm fillet of neutral cure silicone sealant is to be applied at all surface junctions.

Concrete: Remove laitance or unsound concrete by water blast or mechanical means. Fill all porous or honeycombed concrete with appropriate and approved material.
Compressed Fibre cement sheets to be installed as per manufacturers specification and all joints to be sealed.
Movement cracks and cold joints to be cut out and filled with neutral cure silicone sealant, then overlaid with DuroNon Slip reinforced with 140mm min. wide bandage.

Note: All sheet joints to have an expansion gap. Seal all surface joints and screw holes with neutral cure silicone sealant, and further seal joints and spread across a min. 20mm of the surface and overlay with tape and DuroNon Slip reinforced with 140mm (min.) wide bandage.

PRIMING

Prime surfaces with one or more coats of DuroWBE at a rate of 4-6 m2/ litre (0.25-.017 litres/m2). Allow to dry 24 hours @ 25 C before overcoating with DuroNon Slip.

APPLICATION

To the prepared surface, apply a first coat of DuroNon Slip by brush or roller at approximate rate of 1.0 litres/m2 per coat. Apply the second coat in the same direction to provide an even texture and finish. Check when dry and apply a further coat to give a total DFT of 1.2mm.

PRECAUTIONS

Do not apply above 30 C or below 10 C ambient temperature. Be sure coating is cured before contact with water. Wash equipment with water before dry. Do not fix tiles until fully cured, normally 1 - 4 days. Provide sufficient expansion and contraction control joints in overlaying tiling and topping. This is particularly important with FC sheet flooring. Clean periodically to maintain surface and re-coat when necessary.

CLEAN UP

Use fresh water before material has set. Remove cured material with mineral turps.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Not hazardous in normal industrial use.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Eyes: Immediately flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical advice if irritation develops or persists.

Skin: Take of all contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated area with soapy warm water. Get medical advice if irritation develops or persists. Wash contaminated clothing and clean shoes before reuse.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferable mouth to mouth. If breathing is laboured, give oxygen and consult a physician immediately.

Ingestion: Consult a physician immediately. If vomiting occurs, aspiration into the lungs may cause lung damage. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Flash Point: Not Applicable

Auto-ignition Temperature: No data available

Lower Explosive Limit: No data available

Upper Explosive Limit: No data available

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Use as appropriate for surrounding fire.

Protective Equipment for Fire Fighting:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:

The product is not flammable.

Thermal decomposition of this product may produce toxic fumes.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Caution: Floor may be slippery. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Provide sufficient ventilation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses. Do not breathe vapour. Contain spill. Do not allow into drains or waterways. Take up with absorbent material (e.g. sand, vermiculite, or commercially available inorganic absorbent). Use non-sparking tools and equipment. Fill into suitable containers for disposal.

Dispose of empty containers in accordance with federal, state and local laws.

Respiratory Protection

If vapours and mists occur, a respiratory protection program meeting Australian Standards AS- 1716 and AS-1715 requirements must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant a respirator's use. None required if airborne concentrations are maintained below the exposure limit listed in "Exposure Limit Information"

Eye Protection

Use chemical splash goggles (Australian Standard AS-1337) or approved equivalent. Eye protection worn must be compatible with respiratory protection system employed. An eye wash station and safety shower should be available in the work area.

Hand Protection

Impermeable gloves as necessary to prevent skin contact. E.g. Nitrile or neoprene gloves.

Protective Clothing

Clothing made of the following material has excellent resistance: Tyvec, butyl Nitrile rubber or neoprene.

Engineering Controls (Ventilation)

Use local exhaust ventilation sufficient to maintain exposure levels below exposure limit concentrations. Refer to Australian Standard AS-1668.
