It is a solvent based, mineral reinforced bituminous compound
formulated to provide a heavy-duty waterproof / protective coating for use on exposed surfaces above and below ground. It is liquid applied and cures to tough, flexible lining that has an excellent resistance to water, chemical and weathering.
It has been developed through long research and proven over many years to be a highly successful weatherproof coating for the repair and / or
protection of steel roofing and concrete and metal structure in aggressive atmospheric conditions.

All surfaces must be sound, clean, thoroughly dry and free of contaminants such as oil, grease, loose material etc.
Concrete and masonry surfaces For maximum adhesion, surfaces laitance should be removed by water or grit blasting, wire brushing or acid etching (4:1 water: hydrochloric acid). If acid etching is used, thoroughly rinse with fresh water and allow to dry before application. Bond strength is increased by priming with DuroAR SEALER.
Metal surfaces, roofs etc. Allow new galvanize to weather approximately three
months or alternatively apply a degreasing etching solution. If corroded, remove all loose material, scale and apply gal primer or DuroAR SEALER at an
application rate of 4m²/Litre to rusted areas.
Timber, particle board etc. Ensure all joints are fully supported and all fixings
recessed 1mm. Apply sealant to all joints, corners and over fixings.
DuroBL can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray.
If cracks or holes are present, apply thick coating DuroBL to these areas,
then embed into it chopped strand fibreglass mat, and apply a further coat of DuroBL. Using a paint roller or airless spray unit, apply DuroBL to prepared surface, at an application rate of 4m2/Litre. Allow to dry approximately 4-6 hours. Apply DuroBL second coat at an application rate of 4m2/Litre, taking care to ensure that all surfaces are fully covered. Allow to dry approximately 24 hours.
Clean tools and equipment with turps before hardening commences. Remove cured material using turps.
DuroBL is available in 20 litres.
Follow normal coating procedures, wear protective clothing where necessary. Provide adequate ventilation if applied in confined spaces. Avoid contact with skin and avoid breathing vapour. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Refer to DuroBL MSDS prior to use.
