General purpose, sealing butt joints and seams in window frame assembly
Clear Seam Sealer is specifically designed for sealing narrow joints and seams such as:
Sealing butt joints and seams in window frame assembly
Sealing screw heads in metal assembly
General purpose sealant for small joints seams and cracks in most types of construction and metal assembly
Adheres to most metals and common building substrates
Retains good flexibility with age
Good flowability, can be applied by Plews Gun
Translucent, unobtrusive after application
Clear Seam Sealer is translucent acrylic sealant which provides a lasting weatherproof seal. Its ability to flow or be gunned into narrow joints and seams makes it ideal for use in metal fabrication, such as window frame assembly.
Properties Form: Colourless thixotropic liquid
Physical or chemical change: Solvent loss
Chemical resistance: Water and weather resistant. Not resistant to organic solvents.
Service temperature range: Up to 70
All surfaces to which Clear Seam Sealer is to be applied must be clean, dry and free from contamination. Any traces of grease or oil should be removed using a solvent such as Solvent 10.
For many applications, the use of a Plews Gun or similar is particularly convenient.
Note: Clear Seam Sealer is highly thixotropic to reduce slump after application, and thus may present a gelled appearance when the can is first opened. Stirring the material will simplify application or transfer to the Plews Gun. In cold weather, storage in a warm room prior to use will make application easier.
Excess material, spillages and application equipment can be cleaned up using Solvent 10.
Clear Seam Sealer should not be used in joints or cracks more than 3 mm in width. Whilst Clear Seam Sealer exhibits excellent adhesion to most metals and common building substrates, it is recommended that for new applications a preliminary adhesion test be carried out.
Cleam Seam Sealer is supplied in 4 litre and 20 litre cans.
12 months in unopened original containers stored in a cool dry place.
