Vulkem 360NF Key Benefits Summary
Ideal for odour sensitive applications
Bonds to most substrates (Primerless)
Can be applied at various thicknesses to correct irregular surfaces
Vulkem 360NF is a low odour, low V.O.C. water cured, rapid setting polyurethane basecoat that possesses tenacious adhesion to clean and dry concrete, wood and metal. Vulkem 360NF is a versatile basecoat that can be applied at various thicknesses. Vulkem 360NF has been specially formulated for odour sensitive applications in heavily occupied areas. Vulkem 360NF is ideal for plaza areas, pool and recreational decks, balcony terraces, mechanical rooms, stadiums, ramp areas and retention tanks. Vulkem 360NF is ideal for restoration work where both time and odour are a concern. Vulkem 360NF forms a seamless, monolithic waterproofing membrane capable of bridging a 1.5mm crack without compromising the waterproof integrity of the system. Tremco offers a range of compatible Vulkem topcoats that form a strong interlaminate bond to the Vulkem 360NF. Compatible topcoats are Vulkem 351/351NF and Vulkem 951NF. These topcoats when used in conjunction with the recommended aggregate, create a tough, aesthetically pleasing, abrasion resistant, wearing surface over the Vulkem 360NF base coat.
For odour sensitive applications adjacent to occupied areas:
Do not apply to damp or contaminated surfaces
Use with adequate ventilation
Method of Application
Concrete shall be water cured and in place for at least 14 days, preferably 28 days. Any type of broom finish is acceptable. New or existing slabs must be clean, sound and free of all contaminants which may interfere with adhesion or proper curing. Excessive moisture on concrete surface may compromise adhesion and cure properties. Chemical and/or mechanical surface preparation may also be required. Structural or shrinkage cracks in concrete greater than 1.5mm shall be ground out to a minimum of 6mm wide x 12mm deep. Water is added at a rate of one part water to five parts Vulkem 360NF basecoat. Mix until water is completely incorporated into base polymer, resulting in a viscous, elastomeric coating. Vulkem 360NF basecoat is normally applied at the rate of 1.5m2 /L yielding approximately 0.65mm thickness. The coating is squeegee applied followed by back rolling to evenly distribute the material. Allow Vulkem 360NF to cure a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 24 hours at 25oC and 50%RH. NOTE: The Vulkem 360NF should have a slightly tacky surface to aid in the adhesion of the Vulkem Ultra High Solids Topcoat. For details of application of topcoats see separate data sheet.
