UV is a tough, durable, elastomeric, single pack, liquid applied, moisture
curing, cross-linking, polyurethane waterproofing membrane - usually grey in
MULTITHANE UV incorporates UV stabilisers, UV absorbers and anti-oxidants to
enable the product to provide greater UV protection and stability than
conventional aromatic polyurethane membranes.

of dust, loose, flaking, friable material and substances that may diminish
all cases the recommended primer is PRIMESEAL although in some application
( refer manufacturer) where the moisture content of the surface is very
low MULTISEAL may be used.
If there is any risk of entrapped moisture in the surface, which can cause the membrane
to bubble, then PRIMESEAL must be used. PRIMESEAL may be applied to
slightly damp surfaces but freedom from surface water and continual dampness is
essential as the product will not dry if the surface remains damp.
Apply PRIMESEAL at the minimum rate of 4 sq.m. per litre so that the area
has a uniform and complete coverage. Allow to fully cure before applying
the MULTITHANE UV membrane.
Apply MULTISEAL at the rate of 4 sq. m. per litre, allow to cure and apply
MULTITHANE UV within 48 hours. Ideally, surface should be primed on one day and
the membrane applied the following day.
Note: Excessively porous areas may require an additional coat.
Corners, Joins, Cracks, Gaps, Penetrations and Angles
To wall/floor corners, wall/wall corners and around penetrations apply a
suitable polyurethane joint sealant / mastic to form a fillet. Joins, cracks,
gaps and flange surrounds must be filled and sealed with a suitable
polyurethane joint sealant / mastic.
Plastic and metal angles should be firmly embedded in a bed of polyurethane
joint sealant / mastic that is gap free.
Waste outlets (pipes, flanges) should be rebated into the surface to allow
water to readily drain.
Expansion joins should be filled and sealed with a suitable polyurethane joint
sealant / mastic and allowed to cure. A bond breaker tape should be laid over
the join and then waterproofed using MULTITHANE UV with reinforcing fabric
embedded in the membrane.
UV by brush, roller, broom and squeegee in a minimum of two coats,
usually a day apart so that the minimum dry film thickness in 1.2mm.
If MULTITHANE UV is used with a reinforcing fabric (say joins or
upturns) the application consists of applying a base coat of MULTITHANE UV,
laying the fabric into the wet coat, then apply a saturation coat
of MULTITHANE UV so that the fabric is entirely saturated and covered
with no wrinkles or bubbling and allowed to cure. Apply one or two further
coats of MULTITHANE UV over the area.
MULTITHANE ATC is an aliphatic based polyurethane top coat which extends
the life of the exposed membrane.
When top coating MULTITHANE UV with MULTITHANE ATC, allow MULTITHANE UV to
fully cure and then apply one good coat of MULTITHANE ATC at the
approximate rate of 3 to 4 sq.m. per litre.

UV can be exposed, covered, topped with sand: cement mix, covered with

If membrane is to be tiled, dry builders sand should be liberally broadcast
into the last wet coat to provide a mechanical key. Allow to cure then remove
any loose sand. Ensure surface is dry and clean.
Two pack tile adhesives such as Tilefix - Wallaby are recommended.
