SikaTite PUD Plus - Flexible, water-based polyurethane modified, waterproofing membrane
SikaTite-PUD Plus is a one-component, water-based polyurethane modified waterproofing membrane.
SikaTite-PUD Plus is suitable for applications to most common building substrates including concrete, fibre cement, plasterboard, gyprock, render, and render brickwork.
SikaTite-PUD Plus is suitable for waterproofing of:
Can be recoated after 1-2 hours @ 20 C depending on amount of coats applied and substrate
Can be used for internal and external waterproofing applications
Sika cement based tile adhesives can be applied over SikaTite-PUD Plus
No reinforcement required
Easy to clean in water
Approved in accordance with AS4858:2004 "Wet Area Membranes".
Storage and Shelf Life
Approximately twelve (12) months from date of manufacture when stored in its unopened original containers in a cool, dry place.
All new concrete surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 6 weeks and have a wood float finish. Steel trowel finished slabs must be chemically or mechanically abraded prior to commencing waterproofing.
All rendered surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 7 days prior to
commencing waterproofing. Ensure all rendered surfaces have a wood float finish.
Ensure all metal surfaces are rust free.
Small hairline cracks may be filled with the first application of SikaTite-PUD Plus.
Cracks larger than 2 mm or structural shrinkage cracks must be firstly filled with a Sikaflex 11FC or Sikaflex Pro, and then a 50 mm wide polypropylene/ polyethylene tape placed over the crack prior to the application of SikaTite-PUD Plus.
Fibre Cement sheet when used as an underlay or wall / floor material must
be a minimum of 6 mm in thickness. All FC Sheets should be fixed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant standards.
Compressed Fibre-Cement sheets when used as a floor substrate must be 15 mm thick, and when used a wall substrate must 9 mm thick and must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant standards.
Gypsum - plasterboard sheets when used as a wall substrate must be a minimum of 10 mm thick, and installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant standards.
Ensure all surfaces are sound, dry and free from excessive movement, oil, dust, grease, wax, curing compounds, release agents, paint and any other loose contaminating materials. Also remove any protrusions from the surface that may pierce the membrane.
All surfaces must be primed with SikaTite-Primer prior to the application of SikaTite-PUD Plus to the substrate. Except for metal surfaces which should be primed with a Zinc Chromate / etching primer.
When applying the SikaTite-Primer it is recommended to firstly pour some primer in a section then spread the primer using a broom, brush or roller. Then continue this method of application until the entire area is primed.
Note: This method of application ensures a thorough coat of the primer on the surface.
Allow the primer to dry for approximately 5-10 minutes at 20 C prior to commencing waterproofing.
SikaTite-PUD is a one part premixed product that does not require mixing.
Ensure the surface has been appropriately prepared in accordance with Sika's recommendations
Apply Sikaflex 11FC or Sikaflex PRO to joints
Apply the first coat of SikaTite-PUD Plus to the primed surface using a thick brush or a roller.
Re-apply a second coat of SikaTite-PUD Plus at 90 degrees to the first coat to ensure complete coverage is achieved and no air bubbles exist.
A third coat may be required if imperfections are present in the membrane.
Conduct a final inspection on the surface of the membrane prior to commencing tiling to ensure no pinholes exist.
Once the waterproofing is completed do not disturb the area for at least 24 hours at 20 C.
SikaTite-PUD Plus requires to be applied at a minimum thickness of 0.75mm of dry film
Consumption:1.5 litres/m2 for 2 coats at approximately 1 mm thick dry film
Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water
