HYDROSTOP is a two component grey coloured water based
epoxy coating/moisture barrier.
Chemically cures to form a tough waterproof barrier with
excellent adhesion to concrete a masonry
Can be applied to damp
Excellent water resistance
Excellent adhesion to concrete
Resists grease, oils, petrol
and most mild detergents
Prevents rising damp and
Resists hydrostatic pressure
up to 30 metres of water when cured
Prevents bubbling in membranes
Suitable for indoor and outdoor
Can be diluted up to 20% for
Primer for Acrylic, Latex
& Polyurethane membranes
Can be applied to damp
Moisture barrier for floors,
walls and screeds
Negative seal tanking
Dust sealing concrete floors
Basements and tunnels
Underground car parks
colour (mixed): Grey
mixing ratio: Mix pack A and pack B 1:1 by volume
coverage: as a primer - 5-8m2/L/coat
application temp: 15-30oC
cure time: Touch dry 6 hours, hard Cure 24 hours
min curing temp:5oC
volume solids: 47%
pot life: 2 hours at 25oC
packaging: 20L kit, 10L kit, 4L kit
Surface must be sound, dry or slightly damp (not wet),
free of loose material, old coatings, dust and surface contaminants (e.g. oil,
grease, chemicals, release/curing agents etc.). Holes, non-structural
cracks and other deformities should be repaired
Stir both Part A and Part B of HYDROSTOP with separate
stirrers. Add equal volumes of Part A and B into a clean container. Thoroughly
mix the two components until a homogeneous blend is obtained.
Only mix as much as may be used within the pot life and
avoid excessive aeration during mixing. Can be diluted up to 20% for priming.
As a primer: Apply HYDROSTOP by brush or nap roller
ensuring a full and total coverage with no pinholes. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours
(or until tack-free) before the application of any of the Tamsi membranes.
For rising damp and water retaining applications: Apply 2
coats of HYDROSTOP. Ensure each coat is free of pin holes. Allow each coat to
dry (tack free) before applying subsequent coats. Each coat shall
be applied in a perpendicular direction to the previous coat.
For critical applications, 3 coats may be necessary. Apply at temperatures
between 5oC and 35oC
For additional epoxy coat, allow at least 4 hours of curing
time depending on the weather. Allow to cure for a minimum 24 hours at 25oC
/50% RH before applying waterproofing membranes or other surface
Clean up with water while wet. Once dried product needs
to be removed mechanically or by solvent.
During conditions of low
temperature or high humidity the HYDROSTOP curing rate will slow dramatically.
Avoid applying over any
surfaces that have been previously coated or treated with curing compounds,
concrete bonding agents or acrylic coatings. These areas must be mechanically
cleaned by grinding to produce
a contamination free surface.
HYDROSTOP is not a waterproof
membrane on its own. When cured it is rigid and will not absorb movement cracks.
HYDROSTOP is not UV stable -
tends to chalk.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use protective
gloves and goggles. Ensure there is adequate ventilation and avoid breathing
vapours. Keep away from children. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give
plenty of milk or water. Seek medical advice. Keep containers in a well ventilated
place. In enclosed areas, such as water tanks and basements, ventilation should
be provided to enable adequate evaporation of the coating. In case of eye
contact, rinse with plenty of water or contact Poisons Information Centre. If
swallowed immediately contact doctor or Poisons Information Centre 131 126..
