Photo showing Wrimco SBS torch applied to the top deck of a block of luxury flats overlooking Manly beach. The deck was subsequently tiled. The elastic properties and long life of the Canadian manufactured SBS make it an ideal choice for decks over habitable rooms. Being strongly reinforced with 180gsm of non-woven Polyester (NWP) and exhibiting excellent adhesion, it will withstand normal construction activities, but if it is damaged it is easily repaired
Photo showing Wrimco SBS membrane torch applied to an FC deck and terminated under a flashing. This is the ideal situation. The single layer with double detailing waterproofing system was laid after first being lightly primed. The membrane was adhered to the brick walls. Membrane is never adhered to a rendered surface as water can penetrate render and thus bypass the Wrimco SBS

Photo showing bathroom waterproofed with Wrimco SBS torch on membrane to FC flooring in a timber structure building. To accommodate the 3mm thickness of the membrane, the bottom 100mm is planed at 3mm and noggins between the studs for the turn up. The corner is also cut back 3mm and the strip to each board cut longitudinally from the 10m x 1m roll so there are no overlaps. These precautions are necessary to stop the sheeting from bowing out of the bottom

Photo showing the upper deck entrance to the well known restaurant after water testing. This is carried out by torching over the drains (after first detailing) to facilitate the test. Wrimco PB4 is often used on the decks above habitable rooms for thermal insulation as well as impact sound protection. PB4 is made in the
US by PACTIV CORP. and is a laminated and extruded polystyrene board 6.4mm thick that comes in a concertina form that opens up to approximately 1.2m x 15m. Therefore it is very quick and easy to apply.

Photo showing detailing of the terrace, noting that the Wrimco SBS is best applied to the concrete or structural elements of the building rather than to an applied surface such as the render on the brick wall shown.
This is because water can penetrate painted render and hence can enter the building as a result of by- passing the waterproofing membrane system.
Photo showing Wrimco SBS applied to the deck where pavers on adjustable "Polypads" were employed. This design is mainly used on large public areas required to be horizontal, while the substrate is sloped to the drains. The air gap provides good thermal insulation.
