Durotech WRP is a water repellent /primer for concrete, masonry & mineral surfaces. It protects building surfaces from the damaging effects of water with little effect on appearance.
PRINCIPLE CHARACTERISTICS & USES
Simple easy and safe application by brush roller or spray.
No colour change on most surfaces, and no shine.
Repels and resists water e.g. rain, sea spray, from penetrating concrete, grout, masonry, fibrous cement sheeting, brickwork, unglazed clay & concrete pavers & blocks, sand-lime bricks, sandstone, grouts, renders & plasters.
Protects concrete against the effects of salt & water, e.g. concrete spalling, reo corrosion.
Does not stop surfaces from breathing as it is vapour permeable, e.g. releases moisture vapour from within a wall but won't let rain in, thereby allowing any damp to dry out.
Deeply penetrates and chemically bonds to concrete & cement for extreme durability and UV stability.
Keeps masonry surfaces cleaner by reducing discolouration from mould & algae & salts.
Reduces efflorescence & surface staining by salts.
Improves insulation properties of masonry by preventing water saturation.

ADDITIVE TO RENDER, BAGGING & CONCRETE
As an admixture to prefab, semi dry concrete, mortar or grout to reduce primary & secondary efflorescence.

Coverage: Depends greatly on surface absorption. Approximate coverage;

Cure Time: Dries quickly and is repellent upon drying, but allow 24 hours or more for full chemical cure.
Shelf Life & Storage: 6 months at 25oC. Protect from frost & freezing.
Remove any dust, loose surface material, laitance, previous coatings, sealers and contamination by mould, algae or oil and grease stains. For correct penetration ensure the surface is dry.
Repellent: Do not apply if rain is expected. Stir contents. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Apply two coats, wet onto wet, flooding and saturating the surface. Do not let the surface dry between coats. Clean off any excess product that has not soaked in within 10 minutes. Some surfaces are extremely absorbent so repeat coats should be applied. Refer to MSDS prior to use.
Primer: Apply as above, and use only as a primer to absorbent or coarse finished masonry and stone surfaces such as blockwork, render, wood float finished concrete and sandstone. Do not use as a primer over clay brickwork, smooth dense concrete or mortar, and dense FC sheeting. Do not use as a primer for tile adhesives. Leave overnight to cure before applying coatings.
Mortar Additive: Premix 1 litre of WRP with gauging water and add to 100kg of dry sand and cement , i.e. about 1 litre of WRP in 50 litres of wet final mix.
Concrete Additive: Premix 15 litres with gauging water per cubic metre of final mix.
Not suitable for resisting hydrostatic pressure or for prolonged immersion. Durotech WRP is NOT a binder for powdery, low strength or weakly bound surfaces. Note surfaces must be absorbent and composed of mineral masonry materials that are mechanically stable. WRP will not seal joints or hairline cracks. The product is not recommended for dense materials such as granite, marble, limestone, glazed tiles or polished concrete. Do not apply in hot windy conditions as this may limit penetration into the surface. Protect coated surfaces that are wet if rain begins during application. Take care of splashes or overspray onto window glass, glazed surfaces or other nearby surfaces. Wipe off with a wet cloth immediately or with turps.
Colour change is minimal for most surfaces. If concerned, apply a test patch in an inconspicuous area and allow to dry.
CLEANUP: Cleanup tools with water or turps if product has recently dried.
SAFETY: Refer to MSDS. Hazards: Non-Hazardous (ref. NOHSC). Non-Poisonous (ref. SUSDP Australia). Not classified as a Dangerous Good (ref. IATA ).
Use: Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases/vapours/aerosols.
First Aid: Harmful if swallowed. If swallowed give several small portions of water. Seek medical advice. After contact with eyes rinse immediately with water for 10-15 minutes and seek medical advise.
Spill/Clean up: Prevent material from entering sewers, drains & waterways.
S900 is a clear, high pH, deep penetrating siloxane waterproofing solution. S900 penetrates in to the tissue of the porous substrate and create a barrier, below the surface, to prevent the ingress of water. S900 is an effective waterproofing solution and stops leaks without lifting tiles or changing the overall appearance of the surface. S900 also solves the problems associated with water penetration such as corrosion of steel reinforcement, friability and binder loss of surfaces, fungal and bacteria attack and degradation due to carbon dioxide permeability. S900 is capable of withstanding high pH conditions such as found in new concrete and lime based mortars and bricks. S900 still allows the diffusion of vapours or 'breathing' ability of the substrate.
The properties of S900 make it ideal for use on: Waterproofing external concrete, render, brick, block walls, FC sheeting, sandstone and porous pavers. Prevention of efflorescence (white salt spotting or leaching). Protection of sandstone. General rain water barrier. CAUTION: Sealed surfaces may be slippery when wet.

The information contained in this product data sheet is typical but does constitute a full specification as conditions and specific requirements may vary from project to project. The instructions should be considered as a minimum requirement but the applicator or contractor must use their skill, knowledge and experience to carry out additional works as may be necessary to meet the requirements of the project. Specification for specific projects should be sought from the Company in writing.
S900 penetrates in to the tissue of the substrates and accordingly relies its soundness and stability. S900 will not bridge cracks. In order for S900 to work effectively, sufficient product must be absorbed in to the surface to fill the voids within the substrate. Highly porous, sandy and friable surface may not contain sufficient density to allow the S900 to create an adequate 'build-up of S900 to form waterproofing barrier. Test area are highly recommended.

Precautions in Use:
When applying S900 it is strongly recommended that all safety precautions are followed as per product label and data sheet. As the product contains solvent ensure that all sources of ignition are kept away. Ensure area is well ventilated. Adequate masks should be worn when spraying. Protect surrounds against overspray. Observe all precautions on the Material Safety Data Sheet. In exposed areas, do not apply if rain is imminent and protect coating from rain and inclement weather until fully cured. As a precaution, we suggest that , at least initially, the surface may be slippery if wet.
Priming and Surface Preparation:
Good preparation is essential. Surfaces must be sound, stable, dry, clean and free of dust, loose, flaking, friable material and substances that may diminish adhesion. All surfaces must be clean, dry, of sound construction, stable and free of any dust, dirt, grease, oil, curing compounds or contaminates that might interfere with adhesion.
Cracks must be repaired. If mortar is suitable then use a non-shrink mortar. If flexibility is required to repair the crack, this should be done after the application of S900 as the solvent may pit or slightly dissolve the sealant.
Loose grout must be removed and then replaced with sound grouting and allowed to dry.Ensure surfaces are clean, free of other coatings such as paints and sealers and the substrate is dry.Test areas are important as, although rare, latent salts or other chemicals may cause some dis-colouration.
S900 can be applied by brush, roller, spray or poured.
It is essential that the substrate be well saturated.
For best result, apply a soaking coat of S900 and allow product to be absorbed. Immediately thereafter, while still wet, apply a second soaking application and allow the product to be absorbed. This process can be repeated several times to ensure that sufficient product has been absorbed. The product should be, in the first instance, applied wet on wet. Then allow the product to dry for 24 hours and apply a final soaking coat.
The stated average coverage rate may vary depending upon type, condition, porosity, texture of the surface and application technique. General coverage rate for S900 is 5 to 6 sq m per litre per coat and is usually applied in 3 coats. The porosity and density of the substrate may require the use of additional material. Our recommendation is to err on the use of additional material as the initial absorption, wet on wet, is very important. Once cured, the absorption of additional material is greatly reduced.
Colours: S900 is a clear product.
Drying and Curing: Drying and curing of the product is affected by type, dryness and porosity of the surface, temperature, humidity, ventilation, climate conditions and application technique and therefore drying and curing can only be given as a guide. At 25oC and 50% RH (per coat) Touch dry: 2 to 6 hours Set: 6 to 12 hours Full cure: 24 to 36 hours Service Temperature: 10oC to 50oC Application Temperature: 5oC to 30oC
Storage: S900 should be stored in a cool, dry place. Must be kept clear of all sources of ignition and damage. Shelf life is up to 12 months in unopened or undamaged containers. Available in 4 litre and 20 litre pails.
Clean Up: All tools and equipment should be cleaned in Solvent as soon after completion as practical.
Tiling, Topping or Top Coating: Not recommended as product is usually left exposed. If area is to be tiled or topped, then we would recommend the use of Wrimco's conventional waterproofing membranes.
Safety & Precautions: Sealed surfaces may be slippery when wet. The use of Solvent resistant gloves, mask and eye protection is recommended. Observe the safety precautions on the Product data sheet and Material safety Data Sheet. Class 3 dangerous goods must be declared prior to the transportation of the product. Product is flammable.
